Today I am grateful for:
- People who understand. My inner-circle has grown very small these past few months. Just my wife and a few close friends know how much I have been affected by all the chaos and cruelty around us and I like it that way. This pain is too deep, too real, too serious to share with people who might mishandle my vulnerability.
- Long breaks from work. I had three days I had meant to take off but never found the right time too, but my awesome coworkers offered to take on my work so I could spend the end of the month at home. In addition, upper management has given the entire staff July 1st thru the 7th off. That’s eight days to rest and reset.
- Matcha. I’ve started replacing a few coffees a week with the creamy milk and matcha concoction in the hopes it’ll be easier on my gut. I’m not sure if the caffeine kick is enough to keep the habit going, but it’s at least fun to switch things up every once in a while.
