Today I am grateful for:

  1. Having a plan. I know what I said in my “Goals” post, but plans have their place and use as long as they don’t bleed over into obligation and expectation. I didn’t write as much as I wanted, but that’s ok. I did other things, and I was able to because I had a flexible plan that could be changed according to mood.
  2. Time to read. It feels good to look at the hours that lay before you toward bedtime and instead of seeing them as time to be filled with productivity, to see them instead as time for rest and reflection. It feels good to say, “That’s enough for today,” to leave everything left to tomorrow and get lost in a good book.
  3. This Insecure playlist on Spotify. The plot of the show is good, of course, but one of its greatest strengths is the soundtrack. It’s just varied enough to go with just about any activity you’re doing, cleaning, studying, writing, working out, spending time with friends or family, or enjoying an alcoholic beverage of your choice. It’s perfect.
