192// Still Turning

Today I am grateful for:

  1. Air conditioning. We’re well into and far from the end of consecutive 90-degree plus temperature days. Even with A/C it’s hard to stay comfortable, but I know without I would be miserable, angry, and impossible to work or live with.
  2. The end of the week. I have a lot of meetings and trainings to get through this week that left me exhausted and frayed around the edges. Knowing the next two days will be my own goes a long way toward serenity now.
  3. This conscious-building moment in history. I’m seeing and hearing so many of the people I work with and people I love getting comfortable with conversations they’ve never felt comfortable to have and changes they’ve never imagined were possible. I’m grateful for this chance to grow together.

“And this new normal? It isn’t even agreed upon or settled yet, not by far.” This time has definitely erased any illusions of certainty that we clung to before…like you I too am excited by the possibilities of change inherent in this, but also frightened, and exhausted. Happy to hear that your health is improving as you set out to care for others. Wishing you strength for what’s to come.
