I love “Hidden Brain”! One of my regular podcasts.
This episode makes me wonder about repressed anger, my own as well. And then I think of Carl Jung and the need to integrate our shadow lest it surprise us when we “complex-out”.
But this is interesting because i’ve never heard about it from a neuroscience perspective before.
It also makes me wonder what social circumstances (e.g. the internet’s amplification of threat assessments, or the injustice and ubiquity of shameless, lying by politicians ) lead to an increase in “snapping” with things like road-rage, domestic violence, etc…
Anyway, fascinating episode. Thanks!
