Today I am grateful for:

  1. An easier workout. I’m still not losing weight, but I can already feel the routine running smoother and the moves coming easier. I keep thinking about how easy it will be, how good it will feel, a week from now, a month, a year if I can keep it up.
  2. My wife. We are both mixed race and it means a lot to have someone who understands how it feels to be half in and half out of every part of our life. She understands what it means to have to choose.
  3. Cat naps. I couldn’t fully resist the temptation but this time I napped before lunch and let my hunger rouse me quickly. Instead of losing conscience for an hour or more, I was back in the world refreshed and ready to type in 20 minutes.
