253 // Time to Decompress

Today I am grateful for:

  1. Blackout poems. I made another one today, though it hasn’t been shared quite yet. I’ve gotten out the materials and cleared space in my agenda to put on some music or my favorite podcasts and make more over the next few days. They are a better kind of escape than scrolling any social media platform or show I could binge-watch.
  2. Green tea. Both by powder and by bag green tea had been my sad and only source of caffeine for weeks now. Coffee had finally betrayed me, or perhaps it is me that had committed the betrayal. I’ve abandoned a beverage that treated me more like a friend. I hope that the separation is only temporary. I’m grateful to green tea, but it can never compare.
  3. The clearing sky and the 10-day forecast. Winter reared her ugly head, but she’s quickly being shown the way out. Sunshine and 80s will return, I’m just a few days and that means an improved mood and outlook will be here before the weekend.
