Today I am grateful for:

1. The Supreme Court of the United States and their decision today to block this hateful administration’s attempt to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. There is a little less suffering and a little more hope in the world tonight.
2. My Father’s Day gift. Trying to find the right thing was stressing me out but today I finally found it. It’s nothing big, expensive, or elaborate, but it’s nice and in its simplicity it conveys more thought and, I think, love than something given for its market value alone.
3. Cool breezes and light rainstorms. There’s nothing like the wild and booming thunderstorms typical of this season, but today something different moved in and it was such a soothing relief from the sweltering, suffocating sun.
