Today I am grateful for:
- My to-do list and log book. It’s incredibly satisfying to update and give me a chance to look at the week to come, to plan, to prepare, to let myself be reflective, optimistic, and critical. Besides meditation, the time I spend in this space is quickly becoming the most important part of the day.
- WOOP, or Wish, Outcome, Obstacle, and Plan. Sit down and choose an outcome, a want, desire, goal, or achievement. Visualize the very best outcome you can. Now switch gear and visualize all the things that will get in your way, including emotions, beliefs, bad habits. Now, what will you do to overcome that obstacle? Going to implement this reflection into my weekly goals and actions plans.
- My body. Earlier today I text my wife I wanted to “throw my whole body away” and that I was “sick of it”. I didn’t mean that. My body, I know, is doing the very best it can. When I read stories from people going through what I am, I feel grateful for my body. I may have been in pain. I may have been miserable. I may have been slow, pessimistic, and fatigued, but I stayed upright. I kept putting one foot in front of the other. I kept going and I owe all of that to the strength of my body as much as my spirit.
