313 // Moving Against the Wind

Today I am grateful for:

  1. Cat naps. Nothing resets the mood, or even the whole day, like going to sleep, waking up, and starting all over. Even a quick 10 minutes will do. I had time to close my eyes and rest this afternoon, and it made all the difference.
  2. Small wins and accomplishments. I did three things today, which are three more things than I expected. It feels good to do better than you knew you could and to feel useful and capable. I need that more than anything on days like these.
  3. My new coffee table. The “creativity room” has been temporarily repurposed as a bedroom since my little sister moved in and I’ve been feeling a little lost without a space to claim as my own. Yesterday as part of our furniture haul we picked up a new coffee table, and it’s the perfect height and width to use as a makeshift desk for me to write at.

Painfully aware. Profoundly afraid. Perpetually falling in and out of love with humanity. She/They.
