Today I am grateful for:
- My family. Being the oldest daughter in my family has often left me feeling burdened, overwhelmed, and resentful, but deep down I know I have been repaid many times over for all I have had to sacrifice in love, respect, and connection. I wouldn’t change or trade my place for anything.
- Hot peppermint tea. I’m learning that a lot of my pain may simply come from inflammation irritating the gut muscles, causing them to constrict too harsh and quickly for food to move through my system smoothly. Peppermint tea has been keeping those cramps and spasms at bay. For anyone suffering from a bowel disease or disorder, I highly recommend a cup after every meal.
- The last 30 minutes of the day, the very minutes I’m heading into the moment after I hit publish on this post. I use the time to unplug, decompress, meditate, and sometimes I even read. It’s the best way to end the day and to begin the next.
